Use some face time with the boss to promote a good cause. If your annual performance evaluation is coming up, use the time to share what you care about and some ideas on how your company can make an impact in that area. Sure, you'll need to discuss your objectives, sales goals and how great of a team player you are, but this is also a good time to mention some ideas for how the company can go green, a local initiative the office could support, or how your branch can impact multiple bottom lines. Cast a vision for the next 12 months that includes you, the workplace, and the community.
