Give away what you got given.

If you're one of the lucky ones who will be getting a tax refund soon, give yourself a pat on the back. Once you're done with that, make sure to send a portion of that refund someone else's way. Make a donation to a local nonprofit. Help out a friend in need. Offer up an anonymous gift that makes a difference. Sure, you could find a nice use for that government check at a mall, but now it's your turn to play Santa Claus and offer a gift to someone who might need it a bit more than you.
