Boatside Activism

Boatside Activism

Help the Riverkeepers keep our rivers clean.

If your idea of action on a boat is limited to a lazy afternoon or perhaps catching a large fish, learn what it means to be a Riverkeeper. The first Riverkeeper patrol boat was launched by military veterans and fishermen who mobilized in 1966 to challenge polluters on the Hudson River. That Riverkeeper's contribution to the Hudson's amazing recovery inspired the growth of 177 autonomous "Waterkeeper" organizations all across the world. Waterkeepers patrol local waterways, respond to citizen complaints, and enforce environmental laws. Find the Waterkeeper organization nearest you and get ready to change the world from a boat.
