This weekend, CoolPeopleCare turns two. This Sunday, just when you're settling in for an afternoon nap, CoolPeopleCare.org will be officially turning two years old. Although our archives date back to August 1, 2006, this site went live to the world two years ago this Sunday. And, we'll be celebrating our two years in the world all week next week, so stay tuned to your emails for more ways to save the world, exclusive discounts, and birthday happiness for everyone. In the meantime, find your favorite article from our archives. Link to it in the comments for a chance to win our new water bottle.

Mindi commented, on August 15, 2008 at 7:43 a.m.: I have always received great ideas from this site, but one that I took up recently and never really utilized before was the repackaging idea. Rebecca commented, on August 15, 2008 at 7:47 a.m.: http://www.coolpeoplecare.org/article/20... In order to make ends meet during my first year of teaching, I worked part time at an upscale grocery store bakery. Most people would simply come up and place an order while talking on their phone, oblivious to those of us helping them. One gentleman, though, took the time to talk to me and learn about me. From them one, it was always a pleasure seeing him as he ordered a chocolate chip scone each Monday night. If I noticed we were running low, I would save one for him because I knew he would come by. Just the simple act of learning about the people serving you can brighten their day and even yours. Linda commented, on August 15, 2008 at 8:26 a.m.: My birthday is on Tuesday, so happy birthday to us. However, I am WAY older than you. Wishing you many more years of saving the world. Keep up the cool stuff! Amanda commented, on August 15, 2008 at 9:49 a.m.: Congratulations on your second birthday! Love the birthday hat on your logo. Nice touch! A Complaint Free World, July 14, 2008
I was looking for the article about a year ago that had a link to a nifty site that gave a grain of rice for every word definition that you knew, when I stumbled on the article from July 14th of this year.
The day was significant in two regards for me.
I remember reading it and thought I had clicked the "I Did It" button (I had not) though I had followed the links and really found it impacted my thinking for not just that day, but for the entire month.
Secondly, I believe it was the last day I was able to actively respond to articles from the site, because it was the next day that our family pet, an elderly Cairn terrier, became sick and would, 3 weeks and one day later, die.
This article meant so much to me because I remembered it on the day that Joshua died and it helped me work through the sadness and the loss. We are changed but strong.
Thank you for your first two of many years of helping reach out and change lives.
Blessings.
Kim from Boston
