Dispose of the Disposables

Dispose of the Disposables

If it's meant to be thrown away, don't buy it.

The next time you think of reaching for something marked 'disposable,' think again. After all, doesn't calling something 'disposable' admit defeat from the onset? And since we know that cool people aren't losers, skip the single use items and choose to reuse. Say goodbye to Styrofoam cups, paper plates, saran wrap and anything else with a "one-and-done" mentality. Carry your own mug, put leftovers in reusable bins, and don't be afraid to wash dishes every now and then. Don't get sucked in to the easy life promised by these disposable items. Stay strong and dare to use something twice.

I have been a long time supporter of using "real" plates. I always thought that I deserved to eat on something better than a paperplate. However, I have gotten on the reusable shopping bag bandwagon, and I can go months now without picking up a plastic bag. I have also moved away from paper bathroom cups, and use a coffee mug instead. It really does add up over time, and I can tell it makes a difference.

It's not always fun, but washing ziploc bags is a great way to reuse and to keep from having to buy more of them.
