Meeting somewhere else can mean big fuel savings. Even though gas prices are falling, we must keep our commitment to use less fuel, for the sake of our wallet and the environment. One way to do that is to find alternate locations for meetings. For example, when Stephen and I needed to talk shop recently, instead of driving to his home office, I suggested we rendezvous at a local coffee shop. While it meant we'd both be driving, we ended up covering a mile less (combined) than if I had trekked to his neighborhood. You'll need Google Maps to calculate mileage, but trust us: foresight is 20/20.

have you heard of meetways? It's a free tool that lets you input 2 addresses (or zip code) and a point of interest, then generates a meetup point in the middle of the 2 addresses via googlemaps. pretty cool and helpful.
