Swap things – anything – with friends. By now, you're certainly a pro at trading clothes with your friends in an effort to curb consumption and help the environment. But why can't you do that with other things? Guess what? You can! The next time you're in the market for some new dishes or need a bookshelf for your new reads, see if any of your friends might be willing to swap for your rarely used treadmill or some movies. We're not saying you've got to be Kyle MacDonald or anything, but a few trades could result in some upgrades. Don't want to trade? Try Freecycle.
